Hell and Spontaneity

The fire in Colorado Springs, my part of the world, is still burning and is not projected to be contained until the middle of July. Due to strong winds the fire has now burned 17073 acres, that is 26.7 square miles or 69.09 square kilometers, or a land area that is 66% the size of Paris. The fire has not stopped yet. Two people have been killed and 346 houses lost. In three days the fire increased the burn area by 12,500 acres.

President Obama came today, Friday June 29th to survey the damage. He went into a subdivision where the residents are not allowed. What?

The 11,000 firemen from towns in Colorado and many from other states have done an exceptional job. They have been working unbelievable hours in near 100 degree F. (37.6 C.) weather. And we complain about our jobs.

Since we have been back home, we have revised our lists of what to take if evacuated again. Even though unlikely, we still hold some anxiety because we know the fire can reverse directions and come at us.

As anxiety increases, spontaneity has a propensity to decrease.
         The reverse is not true.
As spontaneity increases, anxiety does not necessarily decrease.
